Where to Eat in Krabi

Krabi main offers Thai staples, more spice, freshness, semi-exotic, yet palatable, authentic dishes – all at low prices. So when you’re there, don’t expect to  find all-fancy restaurants. Check out these places.

1) Night Market on Maharat Soi 10

This place features Malaysian and Muslim-inspired curries, coming in electric yellow, orange, red colors. Feel free to pick from a variety of pre-prepared but fresh concoctions in metal tubs with combinations of shrimp, squid, fish, pork, beef, or chicken, and an array of vegetables. If you are not a fan of coconut milk in curries, outhern Thai dry fry curries are also available here. Dishes here are incredibly inexpensive, usually running 30 baht (USD 0.85) for a scoop of rice and your choice of two curries.

2)  Khanom Jeen Soup Stand

Khanom Jeen serves food that can vie for most outstanding food in all of Thailand, along with its Cambodian sister soup, num banh choc. Khanom is truly a taste above the rest for its palate-tickling smooth curry broth. Oh yeah, their prices, which start at 10 baht (USD 0.30) a bowl, including all you can consume condiments, are a sheer delight as well!

3) Viva

If you’ve had enough of local cuisine, you can head out to Pruksa Uthit Road: there’s Italian-owned Viva, which offers authentic, reasonably-priced Italian food. Their homemade ravioli in mushroom cream sauce is a must-taste!

Where to Stay in Krabi

Krabi is a budding destination, actively competing with Ayuthaya, Pattaya, Bangkok, and Phuket in terms of visitor influx– so much so that for it to be able to house these visitors, it has to have to a gamut of accommodation options (most of which are villa resorts).
