Where to Stay

Looking for a comfy place to rest your head after a day’s swim or hike? Although a bit pricey, Fiji’s hotels and accommodations are committed to provide luxury, privacy, and comfort at their best.

Built in 2007, the Likuliku Lagoon Resort is the first place in Fiji to have overwater bungalows. As such, it is one of the top choices of honeymooners in search of a quiet place for romance and reprieve. Make sure to book cottages in advance, as the resort only has a limited number of 10 chalets available. Room rates start at USD 550 a night.

Address: Malolo Island, The Mamanuca Islands

2) Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort

Help preserve the environment as you enjoy the spoils of seaside life by booking a room at the staunch ecotourism advocate Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort. Stay a night at any of its thatched-roof bungalows, or if you can, rent out the honeymoon villa that comes with its own spa and swimming pool. Room rates start at USD 1,174 a night.

Address: Lesiaceva Point, Savusavu

3) Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa

Occupying 105 hectares of land, the Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Spa is the largest, if not the most opulent hotel in Sigatoka. This private sanctuary is linked to the city with a one-lane causeway, since it is entirely surrounded by a crystal clear lagoon. At Shangri-La, you can take hold of all the other spoils of life with its complimentary facilities, such as its tennis court and 9-hole golf course. Room rates start at USD 205 a night.

Address: Yanuca Island, West of Sigatoka

4) The Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa

The Westin first opened its doors in 1972, formerly under the monikers “Regent of Fiji” and “Sheraton Royal Denarau Resort.” Despite its name change, the quality of service has not depreciated at all. One of the perks of staying at the Westin is getting to utilize the private island of the nearby Sheraton Hotel. Room rates start at USD  240 a night.

5) Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa

The Sofitel boasts an oversized swimming pool and an overlooking open-air lobby. Just as grand as its facilities are its beautiful rooms, built with lovely balconies and designed with elegant European furniture. WiFi is free in the entire resort, so you can surf the net wherever you might want to hang out. Room rates start at USD 344 a night.

Address: Nadi Airport, Denarau Island

The splendor of Fiji is beyond words: you just have to be there to witness its magnificence for yourself. Whether you want to learn about an exotic culture or commune with nature, Fiji is sure to help you fulfill your pursuit. It is one of the few remaining utopias in this ever-bustling world where you can find that elusive peace and happiness– maybe just temporary but that you can cherish for a lifetime.
